How to Take Care of Your TPE & Silicone Sex Doll
After using both TPE and silicone dolls extensively for over two years, I’ve gathered a lot of practical insights into their maintenance. This post is an ongoing collection of lessons learned—feel free to add your own tips or correct anything. Let’s make this a helpful resource for all doll owners.
1. Maintaining the Shape and Form
One of the most noticeable differences between TPE and silicone dolls is how they hold their shape.
*TPE sex dolls are much softer and more prone to deformation, especially in high-pressure areas like the butt. If you leave them sitting or lying the wrong way, they can get squished easily. The solution? Always place a soft cushion or foam underneath pressure points to help resist deformation.
*Silicone sex dolls tend to be firmer and hold their shape better, but if they are “weight-reduced” (hollow inside), key areas like the chest or thighs still need protection when stored or used.
2. Handling Damage and Tears
Both materials can get damaged, but in very different ways.
*TPE is prone to stretching and fraying—just grabbing the material the wrong way can pull up “flesh” threads. If it’s a minor fray, it’s often better to just leave it alone. In my experience, trimming the fray with scissors can make it worse over time.
*Silicone, on the other hand, isn’t as sensitive to pulling but is highly vulnerable to tears. Once a tear starts, it spreads quickly. You must patch it up right away using a special silicone adhesive (the kind that comes in a toothpaste-style tube—avoid the tiny bottle versions, they dry out too quickly).
3. Daily Use Tips
For TPE sex dolls, especially leg torsos, I recommend wrapping the limbs in a towel when lifting or carrying. TPE is so soft that careless handling can lead to “stretch injuries” or even scratches from fingernails.
Staining is a shared issue, though slightly different for both:
*TPE can get stained from dark or vibrant fabrics, but it's usually easy to remove with olive oil.
*Silicone appears more stain-resistant, but actually, it absorbs color from the inside out. Once you see a stain on silicone, it’s already deep and very hard to get rid of.
Keep both types of dolls dressed in light-colored clothing or nylon stockings to reduce direct contact with fabrics and prevent dust, lint, or weird scratches.
4. Transport and Lifting Tips
Moving a doll—especially from the floor to the bed—is trickier than you’d think. Lifting from the waist or under the arms often leads to accidents, especially in small spaces.
The safest way: Fold the legs up to 90 degrees and lift in a “princess carry” style. Never try to carry the doll horizontally unless you have lots of space; the length makes it hard to control and easy to bump into corners or doorways.
5. Dealing with Dust, Hair, and Oil
Dolls naturally seep oil, which makes their surface sticky—perfect for attracting dust and hair. The wrong cleaning tools can actually damage the doll:
Avoid rough materials like kitchen sponges, bath towels, or paper napkins.
Instead, first use baby powder or talc to soak up the oil and reduce the stickiness.
Then gently wipe with a soft cotton pad (like a makeup remover pad or facial wipe) to easily remove the hair and dust without scratching the skin.
This guide is just the beginning. I’ll continue updating it as I learn more, and I welcome any comments or additions from fellow doll enthusiasts. Proper maintenance not only keeps your sex doll looking beautiful but also extends her lifespan significantly.
Stay tuned—and take care of your dolls like they take care of you. 😉
